The influx of refugees into Albania, the entry of people from Kosovo, are undoubtedly the most dramatic images of the war, not only before our eyes, but also before the eyes of the world. "It is not a humanitarian emergency, but the cleansing of an entire population," said officials of the Council of Europe a few days ago, while their storms, the image of the whole Albanian drama, was the sight of hundreds of fallen children arriving in Kukës. On the other hand, the revolt of citizens is coming after an outburst of anger and the feeling that they are living in impossible conditions, with worn-out documents, for hours at counters, in order to gain nothing. This discontent is resulting in continuing protests. In the stadium of Korça, hundreds of citizens yesterday demanded explanations for their missing relatives. The dramatic situation in Kosovo is thus becoming the greatest concern of the moment. "And the people of this country seem to be experiencing it more and more each day as a direct danger, which could take on uncontrollable proportions," wrote a Western newspaper yesterday. Such are not only the missing people, but also the fear of a destabilization of the country and of Albanian society. If the reaction of the state institutions, whether in public order, whether in the organization of the reception of refugees, whether in communication with people, is not swift and credible, tomorrow may be too late.
